atmospheric textures. The CD "The Dagda's Cauldron" is a journey through

Dubliin born guitarist, Ed Deane, played the superb slide, acoustic and
electric guitars on the music track for the movies, Stormy Monday and Leaving Las Vegas
directed by Mike Figgis. He has toured and recorded with Nick Lowe, Dana Gillespie
and Frankie Miller. His first recording was with Terry Woods (Sweene's men, Steeleye
Span, Pogues). The album was one of the earliest attempts by an Irish band to play
Irish music using a combination of electric guitars, drums etc. with traditional
instruments. He has also recorded with Shane MacGowan and the Popes and recently on
Chris Jagger's new Album "Channel Fever". Ed's background is blues and he
also plays classical guitar. The infusion of these with Irish Traditional techniques
give a unique feel to his playing. Ed plays all thguitars on the Dagda's Cauldron
CD.
Kevin McAlea has toured / recorded with Kate Bush, Clannad, Seal, Richard O'Brien, Roy
Harper, Pino Danielle, Enya, Barclay James Harvest and other artists. He has written music
for film and TV. Kevin also wrote the lyrics for the hit song '99 Red
Balloons'. He began the Celtic Orbis project in 1999 and plays Uilleann Pipes and
keyboards on the Dagda's Cauldron album.
Ashley Reed studied violin from an early age. Attending master classes by,
amongst others, Yehudi Menuhin. He has toured and recorded with the Albion Band and
his own group, the Savage Rabbits, and has played with the likes of the Fairport's Dave
Swarbrick. There are some fine examples of Ashley's playing on Sarsfeld's Flight to
Dublin, Runaway Ghaut, Chicago Ceelidh, the Bull of conflict, the Pursuit of
Diarmaid and Grainne, Farewell to Albo and Carolan's Sile. |
