 Pete Berwick has
always been a musical pioneer and visionary. A true rock n' roll survivor who has
seen more than his share of ups and downs, Pete Berwick is to songwriters what Jack
Daniels is to whiskey. Blending rock, country, punk and folk, Berwick's hybrid sound
is uniquely his own, an eclectic melting pot of Americana and shot-and-a-beer-rock.
Writing, performing, and recording for the past twenty four years, Berwick bears the scars
of a veteran who has been in the trenches and survived to sing about it.In the seventies before punk rock was even considered a musical genre, Berwick was blazing through Chicago clubs and bars performing fast paced, sweat soaked sets of power-pop punk and stripped down rock. In the early eighties Berwick was writing and performing almost unheard of hybrids of country-punk folk rock songs. In 1986 and 1987 he released two independent albums, the alternative country rockin' Six Pack Town, and the menacing Decisions, which Illinois Entertainer Magazine voted as the number two Indie release out of Chicago for that year.
