The Poor Clares emerged from the
regular musicans performing at O'Flaherty's Irish Channel Ballad Room and Pub in New
Orleans' French Quarter during 1993. They made their official debut at the Jazz Fest that
year and were immediately hailed as "a surprise hit of the Fest" by B97 radio.
The Times Picayune also cited them as one of the "Ten Best Bets."
Since 1993, The Poor Clares have played to ever increasing and enthusiastic audiences and critical acclaim
around the country. They became the first Celtic band in the South to be signed to an
internationally distributed record contract, not to mention making the national charts
with a new album. Their momentum in creating new albums and performing concerts continues
to build. |
