In 1998 he embarked on a solo career and has built a loyal following based on his selection of unique songs from a variety of genres, and his ability to tell the stories behind them. As in previous projects, Wolf will continue to draw from the rich musical and historical traditions of Scotland and Ireland. Wolf paints vivid portraits of Celtic culture as it was and is, performing a mix of traditional and modern material.

Wolf will also be exploring the maritime tradition of the Shantymen...men whose unaccompanied voices were strong enough to rise above the sea squalls and gales to coordinate the work on deck, or amuse their mates during a long cold night on watch.

Wolf accompanies himself on guitar, Irish bouzouki (an eight-stringed long-necked cousin of the mandolin), bodhran (pronounced BOW-ron, a traditional Irish and Scottish frame drum), and performs the occasional a Capella number.
